The technical principles behind the motorcycle cruise control are very simple but depend on the extensive development and testing of the operational software and quality of the components that have been combined to make up the finished product.

Monitors road speed.

Monitors cruise control switch, brake system and electronic clutch switch (if fitted)

Adjusts the throttle by controlling the vacuum actuator.

Controls the carburettor(s) by pulling or releasing a cable connected to the Cable Interface Unit (CIU).

Translates the motion from the throttle grip and the vacuum actuator to the carburettors via a new cable supplied in the kit.

Generates and sends electrical pulses to the computer when the bike is in motion.

Sends instructions from the rider to the computer to engage and adjust the cruise control.

All models are supplied with an installation kit including wiring looms, cable ties, connectors and mounting brackets.

Most models have a wiring loom that plugs directly into the bike’s existing loom.

Some models also utilize a vacuum reservoir supplied with the kit.

Mounting brackets and other components are made to fit individual motorcycle models.

Most brackets are laser cut from '304' grade stainless steel.

Covers are provided for cruise control components if needed for protection or to enhance the appearance of the cruise control.

The cruise control computer monitors the frequency of electrical impulses generated by magnets passing a sensor, or impulses from the motorcycle's electronic speedometer sender unit.

The computer remembers the pulse frequency at the time when the SET key is pressed and then continuously adjusts the vacuum actuator (which controls the carburettors or injectors) to maintain the pulse frequency at that same figure.

If the frequency drops below the set frequency, the computer applies more throttle. If it rises above the set frequency, the computer backs the throttle off.

Response is so quick and smooth that the bike’s speed effectively remains almost constant.

Operation of the brakes or clutch immediately disengage the cruise control.

The Motorcycle Cruise Control provides a safe and comfortable ride on all types of bike.
